The United States has imposed new sanctions against Russian entities and individuals, according to a statement released by the US Treasury. The list includes ship repair firms, as well as legal entities and individuals associated with the Wagner Private Military Company (PMC) and its owner, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

The US Treasury Department has also declared the Wagner PMC a significant transnational criminal organization.

“Wagner personnel have engaged in an ongoing pattern of serious criminal activity, including mass executions, rape, child abductions, and physical abuse in the Central African Republic (CAR) and Mali,” the department said in a statement.

The sanctions list also included Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
