State-owned TV channel Rossiya 1 recently broadcast a story about the Russian Interior Ministry giving presents to a boy from Kostroma who lost his father in the war with Ukraine. The broadcast began with the words: “Dreams come true on New Year's Eve. Savely Trokay, a 6-year-old boy from Kostroma, knows this for sure. The boy whose father died in the Special Military Operation…”.

In the video, the phrase “Dreams come true” is mentioned two more times by Alexander Arapov, head of Russia’s Internal Affairs Ministry in the Kostroma region.

The official is seen giving Saveliev two gifts: a cheap smartwatch and a model car from Russia’s Investigative Committee.

Alexander Arapov: “Do you know that dreams always come true? The main thing is to believe in them. You believed in them, so they came true.”

According to the presenter, the child asked for the watches in a letter sent to the “Christmas Tree of Wishes” – a charity event held annually by Vladimir Putin's “Russia - Land of Opportunity” platform.

Svetlana Trokay, Savely’s mother: “We didn't expect it, actually. It's a big surprise for us, first of all for Savely... Thank you, we’re very happy!”
