If Russia loses the war in Ukraine, everyone in it could be tried in the International Criminal Court, even cleaners who work in the Kremlin, according to the head of RT Margarita Simonyan, who said as much in yesterday’s Evening with Vladimir Solovyov on Rossiya-1.
“Let me tell you that if we manage to lose, the Hague, whether real or hypothetical, will come even for a street cleaner who sweeps the cobblestones behind the Kremlin. Whether one more Kyiv district is without electricity won't change the magnitude of the catastrophe that will befall our country if we manage to do it. It's unimaginable. But we cannot lose. As for the Hague, if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen,” argued Simonyan.
However, the anchor, chief TV pundit Vladimir Solovyov, summarized that if Russia were to lose, there would be no Hague. In that case, he said, the world will be reduced to ashes.
Simonyan makes regular statements about the events at the front and ardently supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As early as in September, she suddenly started calling for the reunification of Russians and Ukrainians and reposting messages about “the great retreat of 1915” amid the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Kharkiv sector. According to the propagandist, this was the only “historically viable option”. Prior to advertising “the great retreat” Simonya appeared on television prophesying Ukraine’s surrender “within two days”.
