Russian military shot civilians in Bucha, Podolyak says

The Insider

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, published a photo from Bucha, which shows people's corpses with their hands tied. According to him, these are peaceful unarmed residents of the city, shot by the Russian military.

«These people were not military. They had no weapons. They posed no threat. How many more cases like this are happening right now in the occupied territories?» - Podolyak wrote on his Twitter page.

The adviser said Ukraine is not looking for compassion or «likes on social media.» «We ask only one thing: give us weapons so we can protect our people. We will do the rest ourselves.»

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said the Russian military deliberately mined areas in northern Ukraine during retreats or pushbacks.

«In the north of our country the retreat of the invaders is continuing. Slowly, but noticeably. In some places they are being driven out by force, in other places they are leaving their positions on their own. They leave nothing in their wake but devastation and dangers. <...> They've mined all the territory. They've mined houses, they've mined equipment, even the bodies of dead people,» Zelensky said in a video message.
