Estonian Parliament designates Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism

The Estonian Parliament has recognized Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

The statement was supported by 88 members of the parliament; there were no abstentions or votes against it.

In May, the Senate of the Czech Republic (the upper house of parliament) recognized the crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people. At the same time, the Lithuanian Seimas recognized Russia as a terrorist state: the unanimously adopted resolution stated that Russian troops had committed massive war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

In August, the Latvian Saeima declared Russia a sponsor of terrorism and called on the EU to suspend issuing visas to Russians. In August, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recognized Russia's ruling regime as terrorist and the country's presence in the UN Security Council as illegal.
