Ukrainian presidential press secretary Serhii Nykyforov, commenting on reports from Russian officials about drone attacks on the Kremlin, said that Kyiv’s goal is to liberate the occupied territories, and not an attack on Moscow, according to a statement quoted by the BBC.
“We have no information about the so-called night attacks on the Kremlin, but as President Zelensky has repeatedly stated, Ukraine is directing all available forces and means to liberate its own territories, not to attack other countries,” Nykyforov said.
According to him, the incident should be regarded as “an escalation of the situation before May 9.”
Earlier today, the Kremlin’s press service stated that Ukraine attempted to strike Vladimir Putin's Kremlin residence in Moscow with drones on the night of May 3.
According to the report, two drones were targeted at the Kremlin. The Kremlin described the attack as a “planned terrorist action” and “an attempt on the president’s life.”
