AFU General Staff: Russia used Iranian drones to attack Ukraine for first time in weeks

Russia attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones for the first time in three weeks, the General Staff of the AFU reports in its daily bulletin.

According to the report, over the past 24 hours (December 6-7), the Ukrainian military shot down 14 Iranian drones. Also shot down were one Russian-made Orlan-10 and another two drones, whose type is being determined. The General Staff does not say exactly where Russia used the UAVs or whether they hit the target. The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Valentina Reznichenko, reports that on the night of December 6-7, the AFU shot down all of the eight drones launched by Russia toward the region. According to preliminary reports, they were of the Shahed-136 type.

As the BBC notes, the last reported use of Iranian drones by Russia was on November 17. On that day, the Ukrainian military destroyed five Shahed-136 drones launched from Belarus in the central region of Ukraine.
