As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, 144 children have lost their lives and more than 220 have sustained injuries, informs the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.

The war has taken the heaviest toll on the regions of Kyiv (68 children dead), Kharkiv (49), Donetsk (54), Chernihiv (38), Mykolaiv (30), Luhansk (28), Zaporizhzhia (22), Zhytomyr (15), Sumy (15), Kherson (26), and 16 in the city of Kyiv. Information about the killed and wounded children in Mariupol is being verified.

On March 28, a three-year-old child died from mine-blast injuries in Luhansk Region. On the same day, three civilians were wounded in a mortar strike in Zaporizhzhia, one of them a minor.

Airstrikes and shelling have damaged 773 educational institutions, completely destroying 75 of them. The territories around Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Kherson, as well as the city of Kyiv, are among the most affected.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the data is not definitive, considering that examining the locations is not yet possible.
